    In June 2018, Ajinomoto Co., Ltd. established the Kawasaki Office (Note 1) as a base for co-creation of new value and business by fusing business partners and technologies. It was opened in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
    Faced with the rapid development of science and technology, intensifying global competition, and diversifying customer needs, companies are required to have more R & D capabilities that will lead to the creation of new value. Ajinomoto has traditionally adopted the technologies and knowledge of other companies in addition to its own research and development, and is proceeding with efforts to resolve social issues.
    CIC is Ajinomoto's first open and innovation promotion base. It is built on a site of 1200m2 or more.
    This time, HOC Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. helped with the planning and management of workshops to draw out the power of participants and generate ideas for Ajinomoto's new co-creation activities.
    We interviewed Mr. Yasuyoshi Miyaji, Deputy Director of Bio-Fine Research Institute, Ajinomoto Co., Ltd., Mr. Gen Nonaka, Senior Researcher of Value Co-creation Group, and Mr. Masayuki Kuramoto, Value Co-creation Group.
    Ajinomoto-sama's new value and new business co-creation efforts
    Since commercializing the world's first umami seasoning "Ajinomoto ®" in 1909, Ajinomoto has been engaged in research and development starting from amino acids, and in recent years it has been regenerated through open and link innovation with companies, universities, and various research institutes. We are also expanding into new business areas such as medical media and fermented natural flavors.

    We will start the "Smart Pig Farming Project" to reform the working style of pig farms by utilizing AI and IoT.
    In this project, we introduced IoT devices to pig farms in December, and after making it possible to grasp the situation of pig farms in real time, we are currently developing AI image judgment technology that appropriately judges the breeding situation of pigs. By developing and introducing this technology, the Nippon Ham Group will be able to improve productivity by optimizing the breeding environment of pig farms, reduce the workload, and efficiently breed with a small number of people. In addition, in the livestock business, which has relied heavily on experience, we will pass on know-how and stabilize productivity and quality.
    The HOCIT Group actively promotes problem solving and solution provision using digital technologies such as AI, IoT, and BI at livestock and manufacturing sites.
    Through this project, both companies will revitalize the entire livestock farm and aim to solve social and regional issues.

  • Overview This is a system that uses AI to automate the "filtration planning work" of the process of filtering beer.
    With the introduction of this system, Kirin Brewery Fukuoka Factory has taken up to 6.5 hours each time.
    The work that was required has been shortened to 55 minutes at the shortest. This time, we standardized the system
    Expanded to Kirin Brewery Yokohama Factory and Shiga Factory, with a total of 3 factories compared to before the system was introduced
    We expect to create up to about 2,500 hours of time each year.
